Helena Washington has worked in behavioral health for over 25 years. Finding her passion helping individuals and families heal from internal conflict, Helena honed her skills working with co-morbid health challenges. With a genuine heart, she focuses on wholistic mental wellness, addiction recovery, the impacted family and associated trauma. While utilizing best practices, striving for positive change, she prides herself on being a culturally sensitive clinician.
Her private practice, BraveBird Recovery & Wellness, PLLC, focuses primarily on physical, mental and emotional wellness. Working closely with individuals and family systems, a holistic approach is utilized. Discovering internal and external harmony is always the goal.

Dr. Mia L. Johnson, LPC, LCDC, CSC
Dr. Mia L. Johnson is a successful psychotherapist, professor, public speaker and consultant. She is the founder of The Toolkit Project. Dr. Johnson graduated from Texas Southern University with a Doctorate in Counseling Education. In addition, she is a licensed psychotherapist, licensed chemical dependency counselor, state board certified school counselor, state board certified school teacher, and a certified lead-trainer in the delivery of Cognitive Behavioral and Substance Abuse interventions.
Her clinical experience entails working with adolescents and adults with a concentration in dual diagnosis and addiction. Dr. Johnson has worked with clients in various settings such as schools, agencies, hospitals, and correctional facilities. She offers counseling to address depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, ADD/ADHD, and effective parenting strategies. In addition, she provides training to licensed clinicians and certified educators to provide them with the necessary tools to service clients and students who have mental health issues, substance use issues, and Section 504 accommodations.
Dr. Johnson is a professional member of the National Women of Achievement, Texas Counseling Association, the American Counseling Association, Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society, the Texas Association for Addiction Professionals, and the Texas Southern University College of Education Advisory Board.

Dr. Andrea Velox~Andrews MA, PhD, LPC, LSSP
I provide services to adults, adolescents and children. I treat depression, anxiety and severe trauma.
Dr. Andrea Velox, PhD, LPC, Received her Bachelor’s degree from Central State University in Ohio; a Master of Arts in Psychology from the College of William and Mary in Virginia, and a Doctor of Philosophy in School Psychology from Texas A& M University. Dr. Velox has 20 + years of experience in the mental health field; these include organizations such Texas A&M; MHMRA, Children’s Crisis Care Center, Depelchin Children’s Services, Houston Area Women’s Center, Lincoln Public Schools; Dekalb Co- Atlanta; and Texas Research Institute for Mental Sciences/Baylor.
In addition, Dr. Velox served several years as the Mental Wellness Coordinator for Harris County Head Start programs serving 16 sites. Dr. Velox has a commitment to serving diverse and financially underserved children; adolescents and their families, which coincides with her work in research projects dealing with health disparities among special populations in the U.S., and Canada.
Dr. Velox is listed with NIH primary investigator with James, Velox and James (a social research partnership) Dr. Velox served as visiting therapist rural SE Alaska winter 2006-2008 for the non-profit organization Wrangell Wellness. Dr. Velox treats children, adolescents and adults with a variety of issues, anxiety, depression or trauma.
